In April 2019, a group of people began using the gatehouse on a daily basis and a small THF network grew around the former gatehouse.
To activate the vacant airport site and invite the public to stay, the Torhausfamily developed a three-week program with various workshop formats, think-meals (Küfa), readings, an open-air cinema, and a pop-up radio station.

During the festival, the gatekeeper* tradition of the Torhaus was revived: by being present in the Torhaus, passers-by could ask for directions or enter into conversation and become part of it.
